Advancements in technology mold and shape all fields of dentistry
and medicine – endodontics is no exception! The tools now available allow us to to better diagnose and treat patients in a more efficient and efficacious manner.

Cleaning the highly complex anatomy of the root canal system can present a real challenge in root canal therapy. Our practice is meeting this challenge like never before with the state-ofthe-art endodontic technology of the GentleWave® Procedure. The GentleWave Procedure is an innovative alternative to standard root canal treatment that uses a powerful combination of procedure fluids and energy to clean the deepest, most complex portions1,2 of the root canal system—including the microscopic spaces1,2 that standard root canal treatments can miss.3 The GentleWave Procedure is so effective at cleaning the root canal system,1,2 there’s less chance of failure over time.4 With the GentleWave Procedure, we can typically clean and fill the tooth in just one session,3 helping reduce what is typically a multiple-visit procedure to just one. The minimally invasive1 protocol also helps preserve more of the natural tooth,4 helping keep the tooth’s structure strong. This less-invasive approach helps to promote fast healing,4 so you can quickly return to your normal routine. Our practice takes pride in offering our patients the most innovative and effective treatment options. If you need root canal therapy, contact our office today to learn more about the GentleWave Procedure.

The acquisition of 3-D imaging adds a new dimension to diagnosis and treatment of teeth. Conventional radiographs have limitations due to the density of bone, superimposition of roots and adjacent structures. Flattening of these and other structures on a 2-dimensional image can hinder diagnosis and potentially affect treatment outcome. The use of CBCT allows accurate assessment of tooth anatomy, the relationship to surrounding structures, visualization of undetectable or questionable lesions and previously untreated/hidden root anatomy.

The use of digital radiographs facilitates immediate acquisition of the image taken while reducing your radiation exposure by up to 80-90%.

The use of varying levels of magnification with fiber optic illumination allows visualization of tooth anatomy otherwise undetectable. Dr. Jafarnia uses an operating microscope for virtually all procedures.

The incorporation of nickel-titanium rotary files allows better negotiation of the roots while maintaining the strength and original anatomy of the tooth. Ultrasonics facilitate precise removal of minute amounts of tooth structure from areas deep within the roots. Apex locators obtain accurate measurements of the root canals negating the need for additional radiographs.
